Feldsaaten Freudenberger was founded in 1948 by Siegfried Freudenberger as a one-man business in Krefeld. He acquired the first seeds from the then active military government of the British Army. His bedroom at home served as his first office and storage area. As the business became more successful, the need for more space also increased and in 1949 a former restaurant became its headquarters. The company continued to go from strength to strength and the next few years saw it grow with not only several employees but also more buildings and vehicles in order to meet the increased demand for seeds.
Feldsaaten Freudenberger is a nationally and internationally operating family business based in Krefeld on the Lower Rhine, which has, since its creation in 1948 , specialised in the production, trade and improvement of seeds. This traditional business is now in its third generation of family management and has more than 210 employees working in administration, warehousing and production.
Growth continued and after another move in the 1950s to a larger building, construction of the first new building began in 1968 at the current location in Krefeld Gartenstadt. Since the move to the new company headquarters, a few more buildings have been built or acquired, but the location has remained the same to this day.
