Fodder radish
Raphanus sativus
The deep-rooted fodder radish belongs to the family of the cruciferous plants. A distinction is made between nematode-resistant and conventional varieties. Through breeding for nematode resistance, the impact of beet nematodes and other nematode species has been reduced. This makes fodder radish a promising prospect for potato and vegetable cultivation. In addition, fodder radish can remove large quantities of nitrogen, making it a valuable catch crop in water conservation areas.
