ANDREA, d.
Annual ryegrass - Lolium multiflorum ssp. westerwoldicum
Nurse grass
As an annual ryegrass, ANDREA is the early starter in catch crop cultivation. It can be cut and used as fresh feed or put into silage just 6 to 7 weeks after sowing. With its richly branched root system, ANDREA leaves large amounts of organic matter in the soil – important for improving the humus content and stabilising soil fermentation. ANDREA is very well suited as a nurse grass. When planting new permanent pastures, an additional 7 kg/ha of ANDREA is added to the seed mixture.
